Wen-Ching is a sustainability scientist and a GIS teaching faculty who takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the complexity of social-ecological resilience. Her research utilizes geospatial analysis to monitor changes in social-ecological systems influenced by environmental shifts. To better understand community resilience, she examines adaptive capacity by assessing ecosystem-based strategies, such as the distribution of green spaces and urban trees across cities. Her work highlights the importance of interdisciplinarity in exploring the interactions between human and natural systems. She focuses on human vulnerability to environmental hazards, disaster resilience, and environmental inequality, integrating these themes into her teaching and service efforts.
