Woldeamlak Bewket
Woldeamlak (Wolde) Bewket is a professor at the Department of Geography & Environmental Studies of Addis Ababa University. With a PhD in Production Ecology & Resource Conservation from Wageningen University, his interdisciplinary research interest and experience covers a wide range of topics that focus around hydro-climatology, participatory watershed management, and community livelihoods. More specifically, his research investigates local manifestations of climate change, vulnerability, impacts and adaptation; extent, drivers and impacts of watershed degradation; processes and socio-ecological outcomes of participatory watershed development; and community-based natural resource management and rural livelihoods. More recently, Wolde has begun researching into the dynamics of ecosystem services, and the potentials, barriers and limits in nature-based solutions to address multiple socio-ecological challenges in the context of developing countries.
